Founded in 2018, Private Capital Development is a North Bethesda, Maryland-based Benefit Corporation geared towards mobilizing private capital by facilitating meetings between alternative asset fund managers (GPs) and prospective investors (LPs). Randy Mitchell, PCD Chief Development Officer, initially worked as the U.S. Government Representative for the Private Equity and Venture Capital spaces where he designed an initiative to drive inward flows of capital to U.S. GPs by way of trade missions. In the first four years, he drove inward foreign commitments of more than $1 billion to be managed by U.S. GPs, an export

 

of U.S. financial services. On behalf of 250 GPs, Mitchell has made 6,750+ LP introductions across 88 cities on six continents. Today, Private Capital Development builds on Mitchell’s decade of introducing LPs to GPs. PCD works with family office and institutional LP investors, GPs, governments, development finance institutions and non-profit industry trade associations to mobilize private capital. Both LPs and GPs benefit from its unique ‘Rolodex’ built on a decade of diplomatic relationship building with LPs. Their Challenge

Prior to leveraging FINTRX, Private Capital Development (PCD) relied solely on their existing connections across the private wealth landscape. This ultimately led to an extreme lack of opportunities. Randy Mitchell, PCD Chief Development Officer explained his needs further, “We were seeking greater access to family offices & RIA’s globally and the key contacts within each unique entity.”

The lack of credible private wealth research presented a significant challenge, one that could not be ignored as the group continued to expand. Mitchell and the Private Capital Development team turned to the FINTRX Family Office and Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) Data and Research Platform to gain credible, actionable and updated intel into family offices, RIAs and the private capital markets at large.

 

 

The Outcome

Since harnessing the FINTRX private wealth dataset, Private Capital Development has directly integrated FINTRX data into their native HubSpot CRM system to activate a connection of 3,530+ family offices, nearly 20,000 family office contacts and 15,130+ independent wealth advisors worldwide.

PCD uses FINTRX data natively within their HubSpot CRM system to enable a scalable and repeatable process for connecting GPs to LPs. Through custom data mapping, the FINTRX HubSpot integration allows Private Capital Development to leverage a preferred subset of private wealth data natively which has since been incorporated into their daily active segments.

FINTRX data enrichment technology has not only ensured PCD is using the most accurate information on its target market, but Mitchell and the PCD team have also been able to harness hidden networking opportunities within their own data to deliver successful results.
