3 Family Offices Investing in Agriculture

From sustainable farming to agtech innovation, agriculture is drawing growing attention from the global family office community. Using AI-powered intelligence from the FINTRX platform, which tracks thousands of direct investments across 4,300+ family offices, we highlight three private wealth groups channeling capital into the agriculture sector.

1. DNS Capital

Founded in 2015, DNS Capital is a Chicago-based single-family office serving as the private investment arm of Michael Pucker, Gigi Pritzker, and their immediate family. The Pritzker family, among the wealthiest in the United States, is widely recognized for establishing and expanding the Hyatt Hotel Corporation.

DNS Capital employs a long-term, flexible investment philosophy, allocating across both traditional and alternative asset classes—including public and private equity, venture capital, real estate, hedge funds, and direct investments. The firm maintains an industry-agnostic approach but frequently invests in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, business services, industrials, real estate, and consumer products.

In March 2017, DNS Capital made a direct investment in Shenandoah Growers, a leading indoor agriculture company based in Rockingham, Virginia. While the firm primarily targets opportunities within the United States, it selectively pursues international investments on a case-by-case basis.

2. Armonia Single Family Office

Founded in 2007, Armonia Single Family Office is a Greenwich, Connecticut-based firm managing the assets of Lawrence (Larry) Lunt. The firm invests across both public and private markets, with allocations spanning multiple sectors, regions, and asset classes.  Armonia maintains a strong focus on direct and private equity investments, particularly those emphasizing innovation and sustainable impact.

In January 2018, the firm made a direct investment in Utz (formerly UTZ Certified), a Netherlands-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting sustainable farming practices. With a clear commitment to environmental and socially responsible investing (ESG), Armonia represents an active participant in the growing movement toward impact-driven capital deployment.

3. Ceniarth Family Office

Founded in 2013, Ceniarth Family Office is a London-based single-family office serving as the investment arm of the Isenberg family. The late Eugene “Gene” Isenberg, former CEO of multinational oil driller Nabors Industries, built his wealth in oil and gas exploration and drilling. Today, Ceniarth channels that legacy toward market-based investments that drive social and environmental impact.

In partnership with the Isenberg Family Charitable Organization, Ceniarth deploys capital into both public and private equity opportunities designed to support underserved communities and advance long-term sustainability. The firm emphasizes investments in agriculture and energy access, providing growth capital to companies improving economic resilience and quality of life in developing regions.

In August 2020, Ceniarth made a direct investment in Kheyti, an agtech company helping smallholder farmers in India boost income stability through precision farming technologies. While Ceniarth maintains a global investment mandate, it places particular focus on impact-driven opportunities across Africa and Asia.
