Financial Compass Corporation is an independent, Minnesota-based advisory firm focused on serving individuals and families (and small-business owners through portfolio management). The firm is organized as a corporation and is owned by an individual principal. Its service mix centers on financial planning and discretionary portfolio management for individual and family clients, and it employs a fee approach that can include a percentage of assets under management as well as hourly and fixed-fee arrangements. The firm does not position itself as an active ESG investor, does not operate as a multi-state adviser, and does not act as a pension consultant or related adviser. It does use third-party alternative managers (see Investments & Alternatives below) rather than acting as a capital allocator.
